Friday 22nd March saw the South Yorkshire School
Games Finals take place at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. Many events took place throughout the event
such as Gymnastics, Sports Hall Athletics, Boccia, and handball to name a few.
Schools with Links SSP membership; Loxley, Oughtibridge, Pipworth, and Sheaf all attended the event after having successfully qualified through the level 2 events to represent Sheffield. To have qualified to represent Sheffield is a success in itself, however a large proportion of these schools also went on the South Yorkshire School Games Finals for even greater success!
Loxley stormed through the gymnastics, gaining first place
in the Y3/4 Foundation Gymnastics, and 3rd place in the Y5/6 advanced
gymnastics! Oughtibridge also gained
success in the Y3/4 advanced gymnastics, gaining joint second place! Well done to all gymnasts from Loxley and Oughtibridge
– you worked hard, and gained the success you deserved!
Phillimore also worked exceptionally hard, gaining third
place in the Y5/6 Sports Hall Athletics!
Their determination and passion for the events really shined through,
and clearly paid off as they gained 3rd place!
Other notable performances were Loxley in the Y5/6 foundation
gymnastics who gained 4th place, and Sheaf who gained 5th
place in the boccia tournament!
Well done to all schools who participated. Your work made not only yourself proud, but
your School, Links SSP, and Sheffield proud!
Good work everyone!
